Reunion Events and Activities

The following plans are tentative and are subject to change.  At the time of this writing, Friday and Saturday afternoons are open so that you may explore the Detroit area on your own.  A tour of the old Sarah Fisher Center is still being investigated as an option for either Friday or Saturday afternoon.

After making your plans for the reunion, please contact the Reunion Committee and inform them as to which activities you plan on attending.  This will help plan for the number of people to expect at each event.

Additional Activities

Besides participating in the planned events and activities of the Chapter reunion, you may also consider striking out on your own to experience other places in the Detroit area.  Here are a few suggestions from the friars of the Church of the Transfiguration:

Belle Isle State Park. Rich with history and natural beauty, Belle Isle Park is a Detroit gem and a Michigan state park. The 987-acre island park features the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Aquarium, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, giant slide, athletic fields, picnic areas, Belle Isle Nature Zoo, the James Scott Memorial Fountain and more attractions popular with all ages and interests.

Franciscan Capuchin Solanus Casey Center.  Inspired by the life and example of Blessed Solanus Casey, this Center strives to be a place of pilgrimage, healing, reconciliation and peace.

You might also consider taking an introspective walk in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to visit the graves of past Friars you may remember.

And you may also visit the website the Pure Michigan website for other ideas.
